I’ve usually found Google’s webmaster tools to be fairly accurate. However, I have a site that shows I rank for some pretty competitive terms.
I don’t even need to show you my analytics to prove that I don’t rank in the top 10 for [cell phone]. But if anyone trusts these rankings and would be interested in purchasing a site that ranks for [cell phone], contact me for my paypal info. ![]()

Try changing the “search type”. I rank for a lot of images on one of my sites. Perhaps that will solve your Google Webmaster Ranking Tools mystery.

Bryan - did you try the above recommended solution? I’m interested in whether or not that worked for you. Also, how far off is this? Is your site second page for “cell phone”? Anything else you could point to as an explanation for this?

Hey Jon - Bart’s tip was right on. At the top of that screen, you can differentiate image and web search.
