Meebo Review

If you use multiple messengers on a regular basis, Meebo is a necessity. Meebo lets you log in to multiple messengers with one log in ID and password. Plus, it’s all run through your Internet browser so you don’t have 3 different messengers taking up resources on your computer. You lose some of the little perks of messenger options but it is still worth it. One of my favorite features is you aren’t prompted to update your version of messenger every other day. Plus, you can log into your accounts almost anywhere you can get an Internet connection. You don’t have to worry about having the messenger programs installed. The only real issue I’ve run into is I’ve seen a few of my contacts just disappear. It’s kind of weird and I’m not sure if it’s something I’m causing or not. As soon as that person IM’s me, I can easily re-add them. Meebo definitely gets 2 thumbs up from this guy.

Surprise! Utah Keyword Ban Doesn’t Work Out

Utah lawmakers met with representatives from big companies such as Google, Yahoo, eBay, Microsoft and decided that they probably should have looked into this whole crazy keyword banning idea before they passed it. They announced that they won’t be enforcing this law which goes into effect today. Nobody is really surprised besides the people who originally passed the law. Makes you wonder about some of the other crazy laws they pass without researching….

Stephen Colbert Asks for the Googlebomb

Recently, SEOmoz wrote an article about the wonderful Stephen Colbert and his quest to be the Greatest Living American…or at least pretend to be in Google. SEOmoz is supporting a Googlebomb campaign by Alchemist Media to make Stephen Colbert show up #1 in Google’s results when you search for the term “Greatest Living American”. I’m pretty interested to see how this turns out. You can bet Google is aware of this. The questions is: Will they do anything about it?

***Update - Thank you Scott from SEOmoz for pointing out it was Alchemist Media, post has been updated to properly credit them.

Utah Takes on the Internet

Just when I am starting to like living in Utah, they go and do something silly. I’m not going to explain it all or go into a lot of detail but Utah is trying to make a bunch of rules for the entire world. Not only is this very unrealistic but it also limits people who aren’t trying to “carjack” trademarks. I don’t think Ford or Nissan should have to pay $3 a click for their own trademarks but there are businesses doing reviews of their wonderful products that would like to advertise. Maybe I watch Lost too much but I have a theory. Dan Eastman is a genius self-promoter and found the right community to get his name out there on the internet. I better go buy www.daneastmanforprez.com now.

Matt Cutt’s Blog Hacked

Looks like some Internet thugs got ahold of Matt Cutt’s Blog.

***Update - Supposedly this was just an April Fool’s Joke but I’m calling it a lucky coincidence.

Matt Cutt's Blog Hacked

Just what we all needed

Sure…Google is a pretty good search engine but they lack the elegant taste of this waste of time. I feel bad even linking here but it’s too hard to pass up. I guess all I can do is search and hope to win my full-length, autographed K Fed poster. Cross you fingers…

New Project

I’m embarking on a new endeavor known as MyUtahCountyHomes.com for my friend Jordan Barker, who is a pretty good Utah County Realtor. It’s still in the development stage so it’s lacking in content, unless you’re into the Lorem Ipsum filler text. It should be off the ground and at full force in the next few weeks though.

In Loving Memory…

I’ve been a big Ford Mustang fan for awhile. This was my Mustang that I sold a little while back. I do miss it but I don’t see it handling too well in the snow on my trip back and forth to work. I will own one again. Some day….. My 2002 Ford Mustang GTMy 2002 Ford Mustang GTMy 2002 Ford Mustang GTMy 2002 Ford Mustang GT

Blogging for Dummies

Thats right…if you’re reading this, you’re a dummy. This is a sweet little site I created (with the help of Alex) to just post some pretty random thoughts on whatever I want.
